This is where poetry can be so superior to prose – when you manage to cram so much meaning into 10 lines. And it pivots on that 5th line, which frames the whole piece. Bravo.

Stuart, I never quite understand how it’s possible to convey so much in so few words. my poems are long, sprawly things, and when I read you and Sarah it’s like you’re using a different vocabulary where the words all have 20 meanings
