Beautiful Things that Happen ToDay
It’s here at last! The biggest Year Zero Live event to date. We have three amazing bands and four fantastic writers, and we have the complete run of one of the fabbest venues in London all night. Sarah was just fantastic last Wednesday, even after 30 sleepless hours after setting off from California, so she’s set to be even more awesome tonight.
Here’s our running order for the night:
7.30-8 doors open to a set from Rabid Gravy
8-8.15 Beautiful Things – Sarah, Dan, Marc reading pieces chosen by Sarah
8.15-8.50 Rabid Gravy running straight into
8.50 Dan Holloway reading SKIN BOOK
9.10 Becca Fenton
9.25 To The Moon
10.00 Marc Nash
10.15 Sarah E Melville reading her own set
10.25 Shirley Said
11 (or thereabouts) finish
Here is a little something about Becca, whom we’re delighted to be welcoming for the night:
Becca Fenton likes words and playing with sounds and likes you too, for coming to listen to hers. She used to run the ‘wordPLAY’ spoken word night at The Good Ship and is very excited about the current spoken word and new writing scene in the UK. her favourite cheese in Lincolnshire Poacher and her favourite film is Truly Madly Deeply.

Sounds good.
Is this Good Ship place quite famous?
And don’t forget to put some Gupters and Gupter zines in there.
I dropped some Gupters around New York City.
Is that near your field?
No.
I’ve got all the Gupter 5s you sent (except 1 I’m keeping and 1 Dennis at The Albion Beatnik wants) to give to people on the way in. I don’t know if it’s famous. But it’s great!
Btw, you do realise you’re going up against Spain – Germany, right?
yeah and we were better. WC has been dire. Players knackered like clapped out cart horses.

Man, Spain was beautiful last night. The way they play is art, and way, way better than anything any of us have ever done.
We’re still ahead of England though, artistically.
No way anonymous.
Spain are like George Graham’s Arsenal team meets Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal team – lots of pretty passing just to win 1-0…
marc nash
I like pretty passing. They could get more dudes in the box I guess, but then they wouldn’t be able to do all the pretty passing in their 5 man midfield.
And no other team can get the ball off them or do anything with it, so they defend and try the ol’ counter. Hence the 1-0′s, for and against them.
The most interesting match would be Barca V Spain, but then you’d have to clone half the Spain team to make it happen.

Blimey you manage to make footie sound like bullfighting Ole! Oli

This was an awesome gig. I got some good pictures, but we have to wait til August when I get back home and edit them.

Thank you so much for being so fantastic. We have some great pics too that should be ready for the weekend
How do my pins look? Like they’re in Orthopedic stockings I’m guessing…
